Availiabilty of Shopsmith Mark 7 in Australia
G'Day Folks
Greetings from Australia
I'm in the process of trying to establish a woodworking shop, and have just learnt about the icon of American woodworking the shopsmith.
I am very impressed, but cannot seem to find an Australian distributor.
Can anybody advise how i might import one into Australia.
Especially the Mark 7.
Cheers

I believe that Shopsmith will not ship outside of the continental US.
If you want a new Mark 7 (or any other Shopsmith gear for that matter), I would suggest you consider a stateside resident who would be willing to act as a third party go between in your behalf.
Do customs requirements get in the way?
Maybe you can do it like Johnny Cash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIuo0KIqD_E

I was paraphrasing JC/one piece at a time.dusty wrote:No! That is not what I had in mind but that just might work for some. In fact, we might even know of a few if we put our heads together.

I phoned Shopsmith a week ago and they absolutely refuse to ship outside the USA. The only thing they will do is to ship to Craft Supplies in the UK, IF Craft Supplies place a substantial order. I was not able to obtain the Power Pro Upgrade this way.woodsy11 wrote:G'Day Folks

I have someone in the USA who is happy to receive items, even a complete MkV/VII and ship to me in the UK, but it ain't cheap. You can get a cheap deal on shipping if it's uninsured, or if you're not in a hurry, you can have it shipped by sea, which is also cheaper.
