Are you sure? I have yet to be told how much my medical premium will increase. I will likely also get an increase in my Air Force pension (also based on CPI). But at the same time Congress is planning to tack on a previously nonexistent fee for the "free for a life time military medical coverage plan". I read today that even Senator McCain is in favor of that.

They won't be announcing the Medicare premium increase until next week.
I wish they would decide on the Medicare premium increase first, then decide how much the Soc. Sec. increase will be. As I see it, the Medicare premium increase should be included as part of the total CPI, which should be included when deciding on the new CPI percentage. If the new medicare premium amounts are decided upon afterwards, then the new Soc. Sec. rate falls short of actual cost of living percentages.
As it is, it seems they wait to find out the Soc. Sec. increase to decide on how much to increase the Medicare premiums. As it stands, it usually comes out to be a wash with Soc. Sec. recipients only getting about an actual 1% increase after their medicare premium rate also goes up.
