If you had $1500?

Like swampgator I would have to upgrade my 500 to a 520. I would spend the rest on parts and pieces to compeletely fix the rest of my circa 1984 equipment.

1984 is new stuff, try 1955 era stuff.

A good quality scroll chuck, and 555985 Mark V Model 500 to Model 520 Upgrade.

Another $1500 and the power pro DIY.

I could keep going in $1500 dollar increments so you get the idea.

In the meantime my 1955 stock machine does just fine.

After much thought: wood. I would go down to my local Martin & McArthur (and maybe go by Woodcraft to see what they have) and pick out some gorgeous stock, mostly local (Koa esp.) with a smattering of exotics. $1500 would go pretty fast.
But when it was sitting in my "shop"-- ahhhhhh, me. Maybe I'd make something out of it. Maybe I'd just add some lighting and a new easy chair, make myself a Drool Station. When I get to the point where I can't use the machines anymore, I can still sit out there and daydream at it.
