Lift Assist and New Mark 7 Mounting
Today I have installed the new Mark 7 upgrade onto my Mark V 520 with Power Pro. I upgraded the gas cylinder at the same time I installed the Power Pro. My question involves the mounting of the lift assist leaving space for the knurled nut to be operational on the right Mark 7 mounting. Has anyone worked around this situation? Fjimp

Yes Jim, I installed the double tilt upgrade and the new quick disconnect gas tube on my 520 this past Spring.
I had to move the lift assist brackets about 1 1/4" from the end cap in order to make room for the tilt locking knob. I also noticed that the lower end of the gas tube was interferring with the spacer that connects both lift assist brackets on the bench tubes. I took a round rasp and "milled" a relief space in the spacer.
Getting everything adjusted was frustrating. I'll get to do this whole operation again when I get back down to Gainesville in a few weeks.

8Iowa, After sending my question I returned to the shop and began attempting to assemble once again. I discovered that the lower attachment fit once I move the bracket out enough to allow the gas tube to connect properly. This also created enough space for the nut to loosen and tighten. Thanks for the advice. Jim8iowa wrote:Yes Jim, I installed the double tilt upgrade and the new quick disconnect gas tube on my 520 this past Spring.
