The original question was sorta "Is there more than one version of Shopsmith scroll saw".

I guess the answer is yes. There are teal scroll saws and there are gray scroll saws. The gray, naturally, are the older scroll saws. This makes the teal scrolls saws (some people call them green while others others call them blue) are the newer scroll saws.

In reality, each of these two models (gray and green) can be purchased as either self driven (standalone) or Mark V driven (not standalone).

I guess then that one could say there are really at least four models.

Example: I have a gray, self driven standalone model that has been modified to include the "quick disconnect, easily retensioned saw blade".

Maybe some people think that means I have had two different scroll saws but they both had the same part number and both were gray and both were self standing - so I think not. I have only had one scroll saw.

Good complete reply!

Yes 'teal' is a greenish blue' Quite descriptive name huh! Only a distaff partner would consider that label adequately descriptive. Close relative to mauve and chartreuse in that regard! (IMHO teal is more blue than green) Now aquamarine is greener!:D

As Bill pointed out, Linda will get you the right parts for the 'version' you have. IIUC, only the colors, table(without/with blade gauge), rear trunion, blade tension and blade mount have gone through design transitions.
