Well there you go. I was planning to try pen turning, so looks like I'll have to get a live center. Thanks for the information!

Answered all my questions about dead and live centers too, thanks to everyone.

A live center it is...but will the wife let loose the death grip on the finances for it?? Time to clean the house.

Check this thread on pen turning. The information provided has inspired me to give it a whirl:D I have ordered some of the stuff from pennstate and will be ordering the rest of the stuff I need soon.
