For some reason the pictures aren't showing up in my browser--I'd like to see them. One day I'd like to devise a dust collection system myself.

Interesting, I once had a set up like that but if the inlet side of the hose got blocked off the sides of the Rubbermaid got sucked in until it lost its seal with a large woomth and scattered dust cloud as it attempted to expand back out.

I went to a galvanized metal garbage can that didn't have that problem.

Have you experienced that? Or maybe these tubs have gotten stronger/tougher. Anyway I'd like to here back from you on how that is all working out.

Hey Ed, you are correct, that could be a problem. The guy at Rockler warned me that a plastic tub would not be strong enough. Rockler does not sell anything that would work (not too smart) but he did point me to http://www.uline.com to buy a fiber drum like the one on display in the store. Uline only sells them in pairs for $80 so I decided to just give old brute a try. I bought it 20 years ago from an industrial supply outfit and it's heavy duty. I suppose new models are not so stout. It works very well and I'm pleased with the setup. Except for the static...I need to get it grounded.

Some of you may remember that I had an Excalibur sliding table on this end of the Unisaw before I purchased the Mini Max. I decided it would be good to add another router table and lift to the shop by replacing the slider with this Bench dog cast iron router table with a Woodpecker lift and Porter Cable 3 1/4 hp router. It is an excellent set up but for some things I need a larger table.

Anyone recognize the support legs?

Decided to drill some shallow holes in the bottom side to hold the legs in place. I had to drill the hole for the lifting rod by hand as it was just out of reach on the 520.

I installed a 1/4 inch bit and lowered the router bolted the top in place and used the lifting rod to pull the bit through the top. I then had a starter hole for the hole saw.

A 4 inch hole saw is hard on batteries!

I cleaned up all the edges with either a 1/4" roundover or a small chamfer.

I think this will handle a pretty large panel. Next I located and drilled two 1/2" holes for the starting pins but the picture did not come out well.

Here is a nice little trick. When drilling holes in a wall use a little painters tape to catch the crumbs.

At least that is what I told the wife when she reminded me that I had not installed the guard on the Mini Max today. Actually I have been planning to purchase the needed items to hook it up to the dust collector so while I was out shopping today I picked those up.

These quick connect clamps from Woodcraft work great if you need the ability to move your vac hoses around. They have them in 4" and 2 1/2" sizes.
