Misaligned Mark V speed gear

Assuming I'm correct and something's bent out of whack here, how bad is the damage?

You will note the large space between the quadrant and Speed Control housing leg. I find a new quadrant is always needed when the leg has bent this much to allow this much space. I have a free allen head bolt, star washers and nylock nut to replace the roll pin available along with pictures and instructions for when you replace the quadrant. Oh yeah, I've got it disassembled now--stripped gears all over the place. Why did they make these things out of aluminum?

Does Shopsmith still stock these parts?

Bill, I'm sure you're giving me the answer, but I don't know a quadrant from a hydrant. I heated and rebent the fork thingie, but the toothed lever thingie that pushes against the sheeves is stripped down at the slow speed end. Is the toothed thingie what you're calling a quadrant? Also, the handle gear is stripped where it contacts the indicator dial. So I need a new toothed lever thingie and a new handle, far as I can tell.

One new speed control assembly and lever on the way from Shopsmith, Inc. Cost with shipping is $92. My $200 Mark V is now a $300 Mark V. I'm still happy.
