Interesting idea. Any chance of a pic of the other side?dusty wrote:I decided to build my own. I made several different version before I finally settled on one that in principal is the same as the one Shopsmith now sells.
I use this one a lot when cutting small strips. The rip fence is not shown but is definitely required.
New Riving Knife any one do a review yet?

There is no such thing as an unsafe tool, only unsafe owners. If you make a machine idiot-proof, God will invent a better idiot.

I purchased two during the first sale. What is there to say, they fit the 510. They seperate the kerf line. I will admit that I broke the rules, I used the riving knife on thru and thru cuts. Sometimes the upper shield just gets in the way. It works fine, and I am too lazy to make my own.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Not a real good picture but it is the other side.
There have been some holes added for the feather board attachment.

I have a second one of these that was cut down so that it can be used for a non-through cut.

I have one and I like it a lot for bevel ripping, especially with smaller pieces. I haven't used it for anything else.reible wrote:About 6 months ago shopsmith released their new riving knife, within 24 hours they taken over 50 orders so I'd have to guess at least a few users/posters here must have them and used them, but I did not find any follow up reviews.
They are on sale (ie free shipping) again so I thought I would bring up the subject again to see if any one has comments.
I did not purchase one so I can't very well do a review, how about you?
