Inspiration
I was thinking of this thread today. I've recently picked up a totally delapidated Oak machinist chest. It's so bad that proper restoration parts would triple my expenses. But I'm figuring I now have artistic license to change it totally. It won't be like holsgo's work, but I'm thinking of brainstorm ideas. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yes, I'm looking forward to it. Truth be known it's an e&ay purchase and I don't have it here yet. But I could see in the seller-photos numerous missing parts, open joints, chipped-off beading details.... no wonder no one else bid on it! I'm sort of fancying some contrasting woods used for repairs and moldings... we'll see
