I hadn't paid any attention to shipping because I seldom order anything from anybody. I usually buy Kregg stuff at Menards.
One of the advantages of my location just outside of Indy is that about anything I want is available somewhat local and I can usually combine errand trips. When we had the store we were in downtown Indy at least once a week and sometimes twice. When I get the boot shop going I expect to be in Indy about weekly or close to it again.
At one point when we had the store we were recycling newspapers and auto batteries. We would haul about a 1 ton load of newspapers there and would get enough out of them to cover the cost of our trip and buy us a nice dinner.
Batteries involved a good bit more money.

When I want or need a hat or shirt or jacket or whatever with something embroidered, I simply express the need/desire and within a few days it shows up.
I just happen to have a pretty neat source that I rely on exclusively. There are no woodworking items in that catalog but that has been a small problem since she also digitizes her own designs.

From time to time, I need a good hat as the sun is having a field day on my bald head. So, when I step outside, I almost always wear a hat. If Shopsmith had a hat, I would have several. If they had the plastic bill, I would have several. Hmmmm! Think anyone is watching?

I have a Shopsmith Hat I got for free with a purchase several years ago. It is one of the best quality hats I own. I have never seen it in the catalog. I wore it on a cruise last year and several people stopped me to ask about Shopsmith or to tell me they had one.
