Be aware that whatever numbers you get - they are approximations at best.desperado wrote:I have a Mark V and would like to know what the actual RPM's are for

If you need to know precisely, you'll have to measure them but the numbers given here are reasonable approximations.

After reading a different thread about this awhile back I bought a digital tach.
I was concerned when it seemed the forstner bits were heating up on the low speed.
My range is 1) at SLOW 900 and 2) FAST 5625. Consequently, I checked each letter and I need to use a lower letter by at least two and in a few cases three to match some of SS recommended letter speeds.
For any application where SLOW or A is recommended I just have to make adjustments for a slower feed or lighter drill pressure.

Mixed feelings is watching your mother in law driving off a cliff in your new Rolls Royce.

Try doing a high speed limit adjustment to 5200 and re check.ss50th wrote:After reading a different thread about this awhile back I bought a digital tach.

Curious where the motor belt(yours) currently rides on the pulley at high speed.
