The great Greenie swap, need some opinions

As I gloated about at Christmas time, I made a good deal with 56/57 Greenie
on Christmas eve. It came with a 510 upgrade which is why I bought it.
The motor was supposed to be good, but let all it's smoke out after a few seconds of running. poof. gone. No biggie.
What I am planning on, is to restore/repaint the castings and swap all the guts from my 1984 500 (now 510) that I already added a 2 bearing quill to.
Both units are "B" headstocks, the Greenie is not cracked where the eccentric bearing clamps down and there are no other issues with the castings that I can see. I had also planned on using some heavy plumbing pipe (1-7/8" dia) for the lower tubes as it is much heavier than the EXTREMELY rusted stockers that are already on the Greenie. I will probably paint them The same hammertone silver as the legs.
I have a nice piece in my scrap pile.
I really like the fact that the Greenie is almost the same age as me, plus I just dig antiques anyway. I was going to stick the later motor from my 84 in as well.
So I'll put it you sages of the ages, is there anything I am obviously missing here? Am I nuts?

Question is, Whatcha gonna do with the left over hodge podge of Gilmer innards and 1984 outards?

Re the smokeless motor - was it still running after it quit smoking?

P.S. It WOULD be simpler to just put the 510 stuff on the 1984. If yer heart is set on biggie bench tubes, ya could put the greenie castings on it and 'pipe' away.

As is evident from Ebay, Gilmer guts and grey cases don't have much resale value. I'll just hang on to them until someone needs them.
I have sold alot of Shopsmith stuff on Ebay, and recently did real well with many of the left over Greenie and 84 bits from the 510 upgrade.
My original plan was to sell off enough stuff to make my $300.00 bucks back and end up with a free 510 upgrade. I'm almost there and still haven't had to sell the Magna Jointer and Bandsaw.
I may not if it goes well.
But all that aside, I would like to have a period looking piece in the shop that performs like a later model. This way the parts won't be spread all over the workbench for weeks as I try to find the time to clean and repaint all my castings. I can just disassemble one and install in the other. Easy Peasy
AND I can end up with a shorty base assembly to sell or use in the shop or as a piece of furniture in the house.

Luckily the desert winds were in my favor today. I thought the headstock casting would be an easy "sand and paint" but alas, no. The paint was flaking into little chips so I just dug out the Horrible Freight hand held sandblaster and gave it what fer. The desert wind carried it away from me off into the desert to lie with the rest of the sand. Will paint the headstock tomorrow if the winds die down.
Also painted the end piece cause it was ready. Pics below.

Back at it today the winds have dyed down again.
Seems like they were made to order the other day.
I try and do at least one piece a day, no hurry.

The last picture is of a different project, making furniture from 10E leftovers.
The end result should be awesome.............

Okay, Those are not THICK-WALL tubes!
I have many many thick way tubes, but these are thin walled.
(I'm not that crazy.)
