Anyone have Insructions for 500 to 510 Upgrade?
I'm thinking of upgrading my 500 to the 510 but can't do it with a new package from the mother ship. So, I'll do it piece meal. A new package would include the instructions. But piece mealing probably won't include any help. I'd like to understand what the components are and have the alignment and safety instructions. Didn't find them in searchs of the SS site and this forum. Does anyone have a copy they'd be willing to share? Thanks in advance.

If I understand the task correctly, the only thing requiring tools is removing the narrow extension table from its legs, and mounting those legs on a 'new' wider extension table and 'slipping' a new carriage onto the way tubes(after removing tie bar,headstock and old carriage), then replacing the headstock and tie bar.oddie wrote:I'm thinking of upgrading my 500 to the 510 but can't do it with a new package from the mother ship. Everything else replaces manually removable stuff(main table, fence) as well as some new stuff(tubes and floating tables).
If getting used parts, I would keep the legs on the old 500 extension table and get a 510 extension table with legs. A 500 extension table will still hold stuff up, and the old 500 fence will still fit it!;)

Well ya do need to remove the headstock from the waytubes to get the new carriage in place. That was the bulkiest thing for me when I did mine.
