Shopsmith Outfeed Table - differences?

Post by damagi »

I was wondering what the difference is between the 510 and the 520 style mounting brackets for the SS outfeed table? Photos to help identify would be great.

I got one for $25 that was claimed to be a 510 one, but they said that it worked fine on their 520. Haven't tried it yet, but I know SS sells an upgrade for $50...not sure if its worth it.

You will need some spacer blocks to use the 510 brackets with a 520. Mount it and you will be able to see how thick the blocks need to be. If you don't like the idea of the blocks, SS sells a bracket set for the 520.

I don't have the outfeed table from Shopsmith so I do not know but Nick did a Sawdust Session on the outfeed table. The Session presented a table that tilts so this kit may also include hardware for that functionality. The Session may answer your questions though.
