They're Coming!

Post by fixit »

The Demo's are coming to MY town!
http://www.shopsmith.com/event/event_info.htm?event=L090

I'll be there with my credit card.

For those who have been to demos recently: do they let you buy SPTs at the normal 15% show discount? I'm wanting to buy a strip sander (and the "accessories" of course).

I hope other owners in this area plan to attend. I'll be going on Friday. If anyone else plans to go let me know by PM and perhaps we can meet there.

I can not answer your question regarding what could be bought at the demo. It seems to me that Shopsmith would sell anything in their catalog at the demo if an attendee asked to buy.

The demo that I attended (twice) was keyed for the Mark 7 and frankly Mike did not mention anything else other than how the Mark 7 and/or the Mark 7 upgrades could be ordered.

I am sorry. I was there to see the Mark 7 in person and did not even think to ask about other items.

He did say one thing that confused me. He very emphatically stated that the 520 was no longer being manufactured and that all that was available was the Mark 7.

That concerns me. If Shopsmith has abandoned the older versions completely, it will not be long before 510/520 unique parts will no longer be available.

Hopefully I read this statement incorrectly and I am simply guilty of being paranoid about parts availability.

I'm still keeping an eye out for more demo's in my area. Hint...

They had one in Virginia. I believe it was last winter. However, that one was kind of bad timing and out of my way to boot.
