Shopsmith V 510 for $400

I'm going to drive 200 miles this weekend to look at a 510 with the extension legs in Austin. The lady's husband just died and she doesn't know if there are any accessories with the base unit. It has all the instruction cd's. Is $400 a good price if it looks as good as in the pictures.

That depends on the pictures, which aren't linked!

The market varies around the country depending on how many Shopsmiths come up for sale on that list you've been searching. I suspect that's a reasonable price but if you don't yet know, I'd suggest watching the list a bit longer.

Bob, it's the one in Austin (Lake Buchanan) The one in Houston is missing pieces but he has come down to $400.

I'm looking to upgrade my newly acquired 500 to a 510 and to use the extra base as a shorty stand for my OPR that I just received. I will use the rest for spare parts. It would be nice if there were some extra parts hidden somewhere. I will know tomorrow when I go take a look. She said $400 OBO. Isn't $400 a fair price or should I offer less?

Looks like a conical sanding disk and unknown something in the box.

I doubt there be any SPT's(maybe a jointer somewhere) but a ras and drill press in the background!

Could be in better(shinier) condition, but 400 is not bad, but I would offer less to start.

Do not offer $50 or 8iowa will severely chastise you!;) Rightfully so!

Well there were no attachments hiding anywhere in boxes so I offered $300 and they took it. No saw guards. Will the guards from the 500 fit. How do you cut the tubes to make a shorty stand for the OPR. Will a hacksaw do the job. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
