Power Coupler
I still have my original power coupler(the one with the rubber in the middle). Many years ago I cracked the plastic on one end, probably due to operating problems. I taped the plastic ends with electrical tape(plastic), until I could get a replacement. This got me by until the new all platic couplers(2) arrived. Prior to placing these in service, I taped all 4 ends with The same kind of tape. Both are still functioning fine. The original came with the Shopsmith bought used in 1964.

The Greenies and early Goldies(Yuba?) had a rubber centered coupler. I believe the nylon(Zytel) was a Magna American/late Goldie thing.mrhart wrote:I got one of those with my 54. I've never messed with it though.
