Your thread is almost like watching a show on PBS.
In August we were sadly switched to another cable operator ( a big cable operator covering the Montreal-Quebec City and southern Quebec in general ). Our small cable provider had to give up, the change in HD was too much and also demands for phone services through cable was also too much.
So, with the change came the lost of PBS Detroit. We still have PBS but from Plattsburgh, New York (Mountain Lake PBS) They do not have anything else in programming showing woodworking. We have This Old House and Ask this Old House but no other.
So, I guess we have to make due with that.
But this forum and its members almost replaces the woodworking shows I am missing.
I know, we can ask the station in question but I rather not right now.
There is also internet, but I am careful not to go beyond my limit of upload, and I am on an "intermediate" connection which is faster than the slowest connection on the phone but still has its limits.
Some programs are also blocked for Canadian viewers. Don't ask me why.
Sorry about the long rambling, I am killing time awaiting my order from Shopsmith which left Dayton on its way to a nice member of this forum who is acting as my address in the states since Shopsmith does not sell directly to us even on small items like the one I ordered.
Anyway Thank you very much and keep on going. The photos are very nice and that is quite enough of work through what you do.
You give me the desire to do some woodworking which I have not done in a while. Tell me it is a good remedie for depression ...

Buying items
Andre, I can really appreciate your pain with obtaining items from Shopsmith they obviously don't value Canadians. I found a guy on EBay who buys Shopsmiths and parts them out recently I found myself need a cutterhead and out feed roller for my pro planer and he really came through with great parts and a reasonable price. I got them for $100.00 and the knives were also included it took me 20 minutes to swap out my old stuff and put in the replacements. It worked out fine and now I have his number at home and can call for whatever piece I need. If he doesn't have he get it shortly. Pm me if you want further info..

This simple 3/8" half round really adds a nice detail to an otherwise bland drawer front.

Mark- That molding really does dress it up. Do your clients typically specify that level of detail, or is the design totally yours?
How are you attaching the half-round molding? Just glue, or with brads? If you're using pins/brads, are you shooting them in at a 90 degree angle from the top, or at an angle from the sides? Do you have a recommended brand of wood putty?
Thanks for your excellent tutorials!
Gary

This design is actually a combination of both. They showed me a picture of something similar. I adapted the design to the tooling that I have on hand to help keep the cost down.greitz wrote:Mark- That molding really does dress it up. Glue and 23 gauge headless pins. Famowood is the only wood filler that I use. I shot this molding straight in because it is so small. After the pin holes are filled the are almost invisible.
