Status taxes 2011 done or not?

I got ours done electronically last Friday, maybe the money's in the bank already. Time to buy some accessories! I'm thinking about taking the dive and upgrading to Power Pro - I haven't seen a lot of pros & cons yet. Maybe I should wait?

If you like a lot of noise, Don't upgrade,
If you are happy with the limited speed range, Don't upgrade.
If you enjoy time invested in cleaning a service the current headstock, Don't upgrade.
However if you value the thought of increased speed, quiet accurate equipment that no longer requires a bunch of service I strongly suggest you join those of us who are thrilled by the Power Pro, while you are at it I strongly suggest the Mark 7 upgrade at the same time I recently had a visitor in the shop who had not realized the increased stability. I will suggest visiting a demo to see for yourself. There were two items that caught my eye. First the screw to tighten both (each) ends is solid. Secondly the design allows the unit to fit down inside the frame in such a way that there is little or no ability for twisting. When I commented on this at the demo other owners seemed a bit surprised. When we installed the upgrade on my Power Pro machine the kids were quite surprised at the ease of the upgrade and lack of need for a major realignment. Given the other 520 sitting behind my Power Pro we had the ability to compare them against each other. I am planning to visit another demo on March one and will likely upgrade the 520 at that time to a Mark 7. Yes I am totally sold on the differences. Granted I am no where near as wise as most of you gentleman, still I know solid when I use it. Check it out for yourselves. Jim

Does it possibly come from the elimination of the rickety tie bar and a wide stance for the mating/hinging parts? Some close up pix of those ends would be appreciated. I do not recall any good detailed pix being posted yet. A new thread would be 'nice'!:)

Looks like things went well and my refund is in the bank as of yesterday. That would mean it took 10 days from e-file to deposit.

My goal this year was to file by Feb 15, got both state and federal done today. Federal was already accepted, state just sent 11:30 tonight.

Nice to have it done, refund will be here plenty soon to help pay spring property taxes, I know it is smarter to get 0 back but this works well for me since I've retired.

So how is everyone else doing?

Went to the IRS.gov site and did the "Where it my refund?" calculator. First of this week, it was supposed to be in my bank on Feb. 21. Today, it was still not in my bank. Called the bank to ensure I had all the info correct and it is. Still no refund in bank. Inquired on IRS site again and now the projected deposit date is Feb. 28, 2012. I hope it is this year.

Well, I was able to disregard the alerts coming from this thread that taxes were coming due but no more. SWMBO just stuck her head in the door to the shop and informed me that she is tired of waiting and that she is not going to wait anymore. The taxes are to be done this week OR ELSE. I don't know exactly what that OR ELSE means but I will probably not test to find out.

I wonder if she realizes that there will be NO RETURN this year and that she will have to write a check instead?:rolleyes:
