Shopsmith/Boat Building/Outfeed Table

Hi everyone,
Joel here. I'm the guy who built the boat.
Yes, my outfeed table is the same one that is still for sale on ebay, per the link previously posted. The outfeed table does not raise and lower when you adjust the saw table height. It's got a two-piece adjustable support arm that goes from the underside of the table to the way tube. Every time you change the table height or tilt (yes, the outfeed table can tilt) you have to re-adjust the support arm, but that's easy to do, just loosen a wingnut, adjust, and tighten. You can make the outfeed table any size you want (within reason). It makes for a simple, quick and easy to make, basic outfeed table that suited my needs but there are certainly better options out there. I can post more photos of the table if anyone wants.

Pictures are always welcome! Great blog, by the way, on building the Navigator. I also enjoyed your other blog about building the smaller boat (Mellonseed?). I'm getting a case of severe boat envy! Also really great to see the Shopsmith shown to such great advantage in undertaking a project of the quality of Navigator.

Gotta wonder since Shipwright mentioned that he had met you, if you were responsible for him considering a SS for his summer shop in AZ!

Boat doesn't look too shabby either!!!

OK, folks, I updated my blog to add more photos of the eBay outfeed table kit. I hope this helps clarify how it works. I really like the table. The kit is well worth the modest price IMO.

Sorry to disappoint JPG, I had both my ShopSmiths before I met Joel at Sucia last year. On top of that I didn't know until recently that his boat was SS built.

Will you be at Sucia again this year Joel , or maybe even at Montague in May?
Maybe I'll see you there. Friendship and I should be at both.
