New 510 Today

Made a road trip today and picked up a 2003 50th Anniversary Edition 510 and DC3300 Dust Collector for $550. Will have pictures tomorrow, but the 510 doesn't have any rust except a small amount on the axles for the casters. Other than being dusty it appears to be in excellent shape and doesn't appear to have been used very much. Will open up the headstock tomorrow and do a good cleaning and lubrication. The only things I know are missing are the allen wrenches, one of the t ends for the telescoping legs and the lathe centers. The DC3300 doesn't appear to be missing anything. I don't think I got hurt at that price plus 2 tanks of gas.

Just got back from a purchase, now I feel better. A 1959 Greenie in good running condition and a really NASTY 1960 brown in parts donor condition and an extra 1-1/8 hp motor with fresh bearings all for $150.00
PLus a Brownie jointer!

Here's the pictures I promised. Spent today tearing down the headstock and cleaning it. There was quite a bit of very fine wooddust inside, looked to be mahogany. Cleaned it throughly and lubed it. Doesn't look like it had ever had any maintenance done to it, but other than the dust it's in great shape. By the way I did have the lathe centers, they were still sealed up in the orginal hanging cards. Both screws were missing from the bottom of the saw fence, replaced them with standard 1/4 X 20 machine screws until I can get the correct ones. One of the plastic front wheels on the DC was broken thru the caster housing but some Superglue took care of that. Found the main power switch had all of the retaining tabs broken off, wrapped electrical tape around the switch body until I got a tight friction fit and will order a replacement. All in all, a productive weekend.
