I guess you are saying that there is a chance that someone will have a remote for their dust collector that also opens the garage door.
Hmmm, maybe I could just get a garage door opener and use the remote for the dust collector. It turns on the lights so it has a circuit that would activate an outlet if so attached.

There are garage door openers available with multiple switches and functions that include a remote outlet switch that plugs into any outlet in range of the unit. Not sure what the amp rating is on those plug in adapters though.
