How many tools combs do you have in your shop?

You would use that formula if you didn't duplicate functions - if the first machine is a table saw, none of the remaining four can be a table saw, and if the second machine is a drill press, none of the remaining 3 can be a drill press, etc.

Referencing the post(#1) that started this tom foolery, it is obvious that multiple(repeat combs of each function) combs are fair play.

And that does not begin to allow for the half zillion odd jobs that it is "almost" sat up to do.

You know, Like throwing on a wire wheel or buffer. Driving a non Shopsmith tool for another example.
In my own case a few ultra simple quill adapters allowed me to do parts of a lot of shoe repair jobs at home in the evening. You are mostly limited by your imagination...
