Maxi Clamps
I see that there is set of Shopsmith Maxi Clamps on E-Bay for $74.99.
(251010542186). Doe anyone know what these things sold for new? I would give both of mine up for $74.99 for the pair

My set was given to me, so I would not have any idea how much they cost new. I would sure sell the for a lot less than that.

I bought mine at a yard sale many years ago, virtually unused for $20. An older business friend was selling his house and moving to an apartment and was selling all of his shop stuff.
I think that the whole process was his wife's idea.
He was a retired forceful business CEO but at home it seemed that she took over. His health was still quite good.
BTW, I have almost never used any of mine. Maybe in this new shop...???

My first post, figured I'd get to signing up since I've been a lurker.
The Fall/Winter 1983 catalog has the whole back page devoted to them. One Set for $49, two sets for $89.
Got the catalog the other day when I bought a jigsaw/jointer for $100 off craigslist - my little victory.
They mention you can combine them and they even have them setup on the fence with the shaper and the main table as a sort of feather board.

I have not used mine. I was going to one day and it was too much trouble so I put them back in the box.robinson46176 wrote: BTW, I have almost never used any of mine. Maybe in this new shop...???

What are they for?
I've seen them on ebay several times and, because I have this morbid desire to have all things Shopsmithian, I've been tempted to bid even though I have no clue as to what they are used for.
Has anyone here actually used them? If so, how?

My dad's 1951 10er, 2 more 10er's, same vintage, a Goldie MK5, a 510 shortie with 34inch tubes, bandsaw, jointer, jigsaw, belt sander, a ton of small SS goodies and still looking...you just can't have enough Shopsmith stuff
