Ordered A Leatherman Mut MT
Well I bit the bullet and ordered a Leatherman Mut multi tool tonight. Does anyone else own one of these tools? If so how do you like it? I hope its worth the price.
I don't have the Mut, but every other Leatherman product I've had, I still have. They have done everything I have ever asked of them, and that's a lot.
I have carried the Original Leatherman, Leatherman Wave, and Leatherman micra on 4 continents in less than ideal conditions. The only problem I ever had was that I snapped the can opener on the Original Leatherman - but I wasn't exactly using it as designed or intended. Once I got back to the States I mailed it in and Leatherman sent me a new one for free, no questions asked. The only other knife company that has ever done that for me (replaced something for free when I clearly told them I was abusing their product) was Buck - and they have done it for me three times.
I've played with the Mut at shows and wouldn't heasitate to buy one if I still played in the sand for a living.

I would never have paid that for a pocket knife but a g/f bought me a Wave for Christmas about 7 years ago.
It's the tool that turned me on to owning top quality tools. An absolute joy to own and use. If ever I lost it, I would replace it with another Leatherman.
Only downside, which is not the fault of Leatherman, is that some smart alec lawyer convinced a court that a lock knife is the same as a fixed blade knife. So in the UK we can't carry one unless the blade locks are removed.
