You need a comma after "But" and a lower case "t" for "that's." Oh, and no space after the opening parenthesis in your parenthetical phrase.wiredone wrote:I personally get annoyed, sometimes angry and always saddened ( but not offended) when I see lazy spelling and really awful grammar used on a regular basis. Just messing with you. I have the same feeling about bad grammar and spelling, but long ago learned the dangers of pointing it out!

I have registered my concerns with appropriate state representatives. Not that I think it will do any good. The CA state representatives only listen to lobbyists plying them with trips, and what not or union officials promising campaign donations. Aside from that there is no real concern for the people of this state.charlese wrote:
All California members of the forum now need to talk with their Representatives (both Assembly and Senate) about this issue. Tell them about your concerns.
As for the CPSC and flesh detecting technology, I have mixed feelings about all of that. In general the CPSC has a pretty good track record of setting standards that make the products we use safer and better. I just hope that the language of the inevitable regulation is general enough to allow for competition to enter the market and provide equal or better technology than Saw Stop. Saw Stop makes a great saw, I have seen them demoed and I'm impressed but I don't want them legislated down my throat or the verbiage of the regulation such that Saw Stop is the only company that can provide the technology. If the regulation is written in such a way that will allow fair competition and innovation then it doesn't really bother me that much.
Last but not least. CPSC only has control over newly manufactured products not those that are already out in public usage so I'm not worried about my Shopsmith somehow becoming "illegal". Just as I'm not worried about my 1991 Subaru Station wagon being illegal or unsaleable because it doesn't have a "Tire Pressure Management System" (TPMS).
