Well I got it with my brother-in-laws passing. It was my wife's fathers originally. I got some utility shelves in mind for the shed and garage. Maybe some storage cabinets for the garage as well. And after that some pen and shave brush turning just for starters. After some practice I would like to make a machinist tool box for my fly tying materials. And I am sure my wife will have some plans of her own too.
BTW thanks for the welcome.

Welcome aboard. A Lot of us have 10E and ER models although ShopSmith is not involved with them in any way.
I have way more than 1, as they are quite cool and fun to fool with.
Check out Skip Campbells website, it is way cool and he is good people with lots of cool ideas. He's very helpful when you need him.

That last part about the wife having plans of her own. Take a hint form one who has been there... make her something FIRST! I made her a set of knitting needles, now I cna do no wrong. Well, I can, but it's much easier if I can pull out 'O by the way dear, how are the needles?'poppy926 wrote:Well I got it with my brother-in-laws passing. ..... Serioulsy, having the wife on your side works wonders. Maybe show her how to sand or even turn! Then you can get your second one for your growing collection!
MKC Tools, one of the best sites.

Derek she has already orderes a pen kit for me to make for her. Also she is the best, she enables my other hobbies and collecting addictions. I have a huge block of cedar that I am going to start practicing turning pens to kinda get the hang of turning before moving to making hers. And one of the guys I work with turns pens and bottle stoppers and he said he would give me a few pointers and a demo one day.
Ok I finally got some pics. Also looked at the serial # 25116.
