Parts for older beltsander

I am looking for a used ShopSmith belt sander. If I find used one (#505642) that needs parts, will parts for a newer version (#505642) work on the older model?

It should. That's what I like about the SPTs. I purchased an older belt sander and replaced a couple of parts with no problem. I replaced the shop vac hookup with one to fit the Dust Collector. I've beenable to update other SPT's as well to current standards. My next project is to refurbish a Power Planer I picked up last summer.
