silly city ducks

On our afternoon walk today I spotted something odd on a roof some distance away. I had my camera so I zoomed in and there they were 3 ducks sitting on the peak of a roof. Can't say I've ever seen that before.

Nope. Don't usually see Mallards perched up high like that. Wood Ducks will perch up high but not Mallards. I guess they wanted to get a better view.

I was taught, just like the mallards, that when someone is likely to shot at you it is best to "keep your head down".

P.S. Those ducks are not the only odd thing about that roof! Wonder if the 'roofer' had a chaulk line?

Oh I think he had a chalk line, but it does look like he used left over scraps.

That's a new random pattern shingle; often used on roofs with crooked rig beams. Referred to as Survival Renaissance.

First time I have seen some with varying 'exposure'. If the back be straight(to a chaulk line) the exposed ends are random length!;)

P.S. For sure he did not plan ahead until a few(11) courses below the peak.
