Hi
I had the bandsaw working and I took it off. Now I have put it back on but I cannot get the motor to slide upon the connector to engage the bandsaw. It goes up and attached to the bandsaw neck but I can't get it to slide up into the spring loaded end far enough to engage. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

Well, it seems either the headstock won't travel far enough or you're not aligning the splines inside the plastic coupling to the grooves on the spindle hub. First thing to check is to make sure the headstock isn't binding and will slide to the left far enough so that the plastic coupling overlaps both hubs. If everything is OK, attach the plastic coupling to the bandsaw and bring up the headstock while rotating the plastic coupling so that the splines inside the coupling align with the grooves in the hub. I've used a Sharpie pen to mark a line on the coupling to help align the coupling and hub.

Worked, then the rubber...
Great, thank you, got it to work. Worked for about 30 seconds and then the rubber on the top wheel came off. The reason I had stopped using it before is because that rubber kept coming off. Someone suggested I glue it and I did that. Should I order a new rubber for the top wheel? Or something else I can do? Another kind of glue? Thanks again.
Did ya use contact cement to glue it back on before? Ya might think about getting a new tire for it.

Use 3M adhesive that is used for attaching door weather seals on cars. It is available at most Automotive supply houses.
Clean the wheel and the tire before using it. It has to be put on the wheel and the tire and allowed to set up before installing the tire. It is a form of contact cement.

You might want to check the tension on the bandsaw blade. Too much tension can cause the rubber tires to come off the wheels. Once streatched though by coming off the wheel likely means you need to replace it, especially now that you've glued the tire in place and it still came off.
Another thing to make sure is that you're not running the bandsaw at too high a speed -- check the manual for the the correct speed range.
