Table questions

Now we have the machine at home, I Am having trouble using the floating tables. I was wondering if the tubes from the main table being tight should make the floating tables to where they won't slide until the tubes are loosened from the main table. The table is also off right rear to left front about.020" and left to right about .015". Left rear to right is OK. Is this too much, or is it OK? The trunions also seem to be tipped out rubbing the table clamps in the zero degree position. Thanks for any help. I forgot to say this is a 510 machine.

Maybe, after I read more of the forum, I'll better understand your issue but I'll take a chase at responding with minimum knowledge on my part.

Yes, the errors that you site are too much. After careful alignment, the table can be within a few thousandths. The tables being out of alignment can make it impossible to move tubes thru the rails.

In fact, I fine tune my table alignments with the tubes installed and when I remove the tubes I expect no resistance at all. Any resistance is either because the tubes were not unlocked or the tables are not all parallel.
