Shop Storage

Post by cliddle »

Hey guy, I was wondering if there are plans on the site somewhere for the wall mount storage system I see behind Nick in all the Sawdust sessions?

Several people have asked about that. You can find the plans fror that particular Hand Tool Cabinet in the Sept/Oct 1989 issue of American Woodworker. I did what I consider a much more refined design of the same cabinet in Workbenches and Shop Furniture, one of the books in my "Worshop Companion" series. You can find to book used a whole lot easier than twenty-year-old copies of AW. Check with Amazon.

With all good wishes,

Holy cow. You wrote that series? I have the entire series somewhere in my house. It was boxed up when I moved some years ago and it must still be in an unopened box somewhere because I forgot all about those books until I just went to Amazon and saw the cover!

The first think I'll do tonight when I get home is look for those books!

(I did read and use them at the time they were published, but somehow misplaced them during the move none years ago I guess).

I have Nick's book (several others too). The plans for this 2'x3' cabinet are in chapter 7.

Plans for a similar style "quick to make tool cabinet", slightly larger at 32"x48", are given in "Great Workshops from Fine Woodworking", Taunton Press 2008
