My Shopsmith V serial number is 138555. Shopsmith says it falls between 1973-1978 is there a way to get a more exact date? I bought it new for $850, I think but can't recall date.

138555 falls in 1982 I believe but I would have sworn I bought it before that, sometime in the 70s.

I would say that it was December 1982 but could possibly have been January 1983. Newer is better - right?
