Extension Table Base for the 500

Is the Mark V 500 Extension Table Base compatible to the 510/520?

If not, why? What prevents it from being used?

Hey Dusty,
I believe they are. I re-used mine when I got my 510 upgrade via an auction. It is working fine. I have a 7 1/2" extention table top now laying around that was on my 500.

Hi,

They are indeed the same and my 500 to 520 kit told you to reuse the ones from the 500. If you check part numbers 504273 is shown for both.

I saw somewhere a set of plans and a photo of what looked like a very easy-to-build rig, turning an old 500 table-carriage into an infeed/outfeed/extension table: just a wooden frame with a couple of stub pipes on top to mount the carriage on. There may have been a provision for hooking it to the 510/20 table as well.

Big advantage to the idea of course is that you can tilt it to match the main table, and it has miter slots.

I had posted here that those infeed/outfeed/extension tables are just the perfect thing to do with the old parts from a 500 being upgraded....I took the first set from a '54 Magna and was so pleased I went on eBay and bought a second set to build another table.

While they did not design a clamp or attachment system, one can be devised. I simply have not found it necessary to do so.

I had posted pictures of these on the SSUG site but they got lost in their "upgrade"....Sigh....

OK guys.....How do I do it? I checked the instructions posted on how to attach a picture file to this post and all I get is I exceed the parameters allowed. I shot a new photo with my Canon 610.

How do you others post with the attached files that I can click on and have beautiful photos of your projects pop up?

I don't post the finest pictures here... I always use some photo editor on my computer and make them into smaller "e-mail size" .jpg files, which I can upload onto the forum. But I've seen much richer photos and I'm not sure what was done for those posts!

Hi Doc! I adjust my camera to its lowest quality picture. (Lowest number of pixels) (On my little Cannon it is one star - as opposed to three.) With the lowest photo quality, then it works on the Forum! When snapping a shot with the camera set at high number of pixels - or high quality - the photo is too large to post here.
