Inflatable sander kudos

I began making a combination net and paddle today in the shop. I call it the "panfish paddle". Its a small cedar paddle with a small landing net up where the handle normally is. To shape the paddle i used the inflatable contour drum sander. What a great tool- it was a snap and perfect for the job. This is not a very good picture, sort of a hard thing to capture in a picture, but the job was very easily done and the results were nice. I will post pics when I get this "novelty" paddle done. Oh - and I inflated the sander with the Magna era Shopsmith air compressor. Is there anything the Shopsmith can't do?! Alec

Here's a picture of the paddle and the new net form with a couple thins hoop strips clamped in place. I still need to be cut out the form clamp holes; just to give an idea of what I'm getting at. Alec

That's a neat idea. Is it for a canoe or kayak? I'll be watching to see how it turns out, and how you do the netting. Are you going to knot your own, or attach a ready-made piece?

Well your 'first goldie' was a 3/4hp version.

What is the second, and which one got PPed?

JPG both Goldies are 1960 3/4 hp models. I bought a refurbished PP and kept the original headstock for my Goldie... I really didn't want to give up the original. I restored it and am very fond of it! That was before I found the second one of course.

Culprit , the "panfish paddle" is for a canoe ... I use premade netting. I ordered a bunch of them a few years back. I'm pretty good with knots, but I have never made netting. Thanks! Alec
