Need a little help

Post by 260twister »

I have a1985 Mark V with all the attachments plus thickness planner and large vac. My eye sight now hampers me from delicate work. How do I guestimate the value so that it can be sold or donated to a non-prophit? Sorry if I am in the incorrect section.

Do a local price check on Craigslist. Prices are all over the place for Shopsmith stuff.

While the price of a MK5. itself, varies some depending on whether you live in a large metro area or not, because of the number of potential buyers close enough for local pickup, the prices you'll see for options like the planer, bandsaw, jointer, etc, are a good guideline.
My dad's 1951 10er, 2 more 10er's, same vintage, a Goldie MK5, a 510 shortie with 34inch tubes, bandsaw, jointer, jigsaw, belt sander, a ton of small SS goodies and still looking...you just can't have enough Shopsmith stuff

E-bay is another place.

Condition, location, condition, location, condition, location.

Generally selling separately may get more $$$.

Where are you located?

They do make mountable magnifiers with lights that may be an alternative to giving up the shopsmith.
