Serila # Year?

Post by tdorr »

Hi all... I am looking at a used shopsmith and the serial # is 51-002154. Based on the Shopsmith sitre's published serial #s it could be manufactured between 1985-86? Anyway to confirm the date or get into the specific year at least?

Thanks!

Tim D.

Ok, I'm not crazy, I couldn't find that number too. If you scroll down on this link you'll find a list of serials by month they were manufactured.

Could it be that it was a preliminary unit fabricated in Jan-Mar of 1986? Based on the number 002154 it would fall into March? Here's a pic of the plate.

You'll need a bigger picture. At least on my computer it was only 64 x 48 pixels, or about thumbnail size.

I was able to see and confirm the number on the plate and just pasted it in as verification: 002154.
