500 tables

Post by oldc6 »

looking at a 500 on c-list.
it is a gray machine but, the table has two slots .

did a search but, really didnt find an answer.
does anybody know when the two slot table was used?

i did not think it was used with the gray machines.
has speed control problem, and before i even call, just checking
that it is not a basket case........

The 'extra' slot was sop when Magna-American discontinued production of the Mark5. Initial Shopsmith Inc. production had the same table. IIUC the slot was eliminated when new molds were made.
