Interesting Shopsmith in Toronto on Eb

I was refering to the kind of under storage that the owner did and the fact that the Mark V did not have its legs but was supported by the storage itself.
For me it was the first time that I did see this.

That is quite the set-up. Looks like it has all of the storage space one could want for accessories in a footprint not much bigger than your standard Shopsmith. And, looks like it easily converts back to the original configuration, if one wants to do that. May be something to think about.

I have for a long time thought that this sort of Shopsmith cabinet would be idea. If I built one, I would lower the Shopsmith about 3" (maybe a little more) and extend the foot print on the back side.

Attached to or supported by that back side would be my outfeed table with the capacity to be the full width of the Mark V.

There are just so many ways to screw up such a project that I have never gotten serious enough to take the plunge. I think I doubt my skills in building the cabinet strong enough to facilitate the Mark V.

It would have to be relocatable (on wheels of some sort) while at the same time being level and stable on my less than perfect garage floor.

Looks like the middle section is on separate wheels and is removable/detachable.

You are right, I had not noticed that middle section.
I find it is a good idea for short people to set up de Mark V that way by constructing your cases at the height that you need.

I actually like the idea of having a wide table like that under the SS. Never would have thought of mounting it like a 10ER. Kind of make it looks like a 10ER on steroids, but the thought is interesting. You could actually raise the SS up a little, I would like mine to be a few inches higher, just seems a little low when cleaning and polishing, but I have not used it. Maybe once I start playing with it, it will feel more natural.
