I find myself making 2 Adirondack chairs as a wedding present for my niece.
It seems that everyone in the family ends up getting one from me at one time are another, as the style used is what I consider one of the best where you slide back in, with a curved back. It's from a pattern my father had from "u build it" back in the 60's. Cost was 50 cents.
the cost for wood for two pine chairs 3/4" back in 2002 was $70.
Curious to see what wood will cost 10 years later
anyway, I need to use screw that won't rust or streak, and I am not happy with the big box store screws. I haven't brought better quality screws in ages, what would someone suggest from experience and where to buy.
TIA

I believe Norm did an updated chair on one of programs towards the end. You might want to check to see what he did since this was a second updated version based on the original but better.
Some screws can be hidden under plugs which also protects them from weathering. Can't recall if that is what Norm did???
