I'm not a house keeper. LOL Anyway, after getting things put in place in the house, if I get a couple hours to woodwork, I am so happy and thankful. Then on some days, I get the grandchildren to care for. The grandson is aged 5 and the granddaughter is 22 months. Grandson loves to clean the SS area and tool. Also, he likes to tell me what he wants and helps me draw it out before getting it cut out. Hoping that he'll love doing this someday. Lurk here some evenings while she watches TV and we don't have the children.

Thanks. Work with him all I can so he can see how to imagine, then draw and then cut pieces to fit and assemble. Let him glue, paint and help assemble. He loves it, not the noise of the machine.

Yesterday, he found the calculator and had the most fun adding numbers. Will be encouraging him to continue addition and next into multiplication. He is memorizing combinations of addition facts. Thrills us. :D

Did you get the fuel pressure, no engine   running problem solved, and
repaired????

If not, you are not quite ready for the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OKAY, I'm not quite ready. That problem and an issue with the refrigerator has to be resolved. I also have to take it to the Miichelon dealer to get a complete tire change.

The engine runs as long as it has fuel. We have proven that. There is no indication that the fuel pump works (no pressure and no sound).

It will get hauled to the garage for repair. On the way home from there we'll drop it off at Michelon for tires (which have been set aside for us and paid for). The refrigerator is a recall. A simple part change.

As acknowledged.....not quite there yet but we are ready for the road!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wishing your repair to be a cheap one... :)

Thanks for the thought, farmer. I appreciate it.

Based on preliminary quotes, this is going to be an $700+parts repair job.

Drop the tank.

Drain and Clean Tank.

Replace the fuel pump.

Replace the fuel filter.

Reinstall Tank.

The shop that I am inclined to take it to charges $70 an hour labor.

I sure wish I had been paid $70 an hour.

I have some vacuum lines that need to be replaced as well. It'll be over a grand before I can drive it away. Then I have to get it registered again.

That's not a bad quote, Dusty. At least, for this area. I was quoted 1K for the same job on my F250. But that was from the dealer. Luckily, I didn't need it done, after all.
I believe (I could be wrong) that the dealer's labor rate is $125/hr.

I gotta read all of your replies still, but thought I would post my current plans first. One of my pool teams will shoot in a season ending tournament tomorrow and I am going fishing Monday with a friend. There is a pile of mulch in the driveway waiting on me.

I think a friend of mine wants to brew a batch of beer next week. And I plan to play in 2 pool leagues this summer, one 8-ball and the other 14-1 continuous.

I have to get the camper out of storage sometime. We will take it up to the MN arrowhead country later in the summer, but we will use it a few times before that.

I really am enjoying my retirement. I should probably learn to focus on specific objectives, but I am enjoying my retirement the way it is. When summer has past, I will add ping pong and singing in a mens group.

My big complaint so far with MN is that the summers are so short.

What do you all do with the time at home when you aren't in the shop?
So Gene, are you going to share with us?:)

We travel a lot. Short, 2 or 3 day trips around AZ and NM, mostly.
Then, during this time of the year, mowing and tending 26 acres of desert occupies a lot of our time.
I'm writing a children's book, too. And that's fairly time consuming.
We do manage to not become too bored. :D
