Cutting Tubes

I just made a mini. It was a delima between a mini and a shorty. I just centered cut with my dewalt cordless and a good blade. No problems. I did put one end in a vise to hold it. I am pretty good at using it to make square cuts. Then just a hand file. If your going to make a mini don't just shop the way tubes in half. Follow SDSSmith recomendation. I thought that just cutting it in half would work just fine. The problem is that the way tubes need to be alittle smaller. I got mine to work with out recutting, but it just works. I might even use two pieces of tape. One on each side of center.

PS. I've used a 10 inch Cutoff wheel mounted in my woodworking compound saw. Cut metal no problem. Just pump the trigger. It will heat the metal you are cutting to red hot if you run it outright.

I found my pipe cutter that I used to very easily cut my tubes, while you won't borrow it, I can bring them over and we can cut your tubes together.

Thank you, Farley. I appreciate your offer. I have gotten the job done. I went back to HF after visiting you and bought a pipe cutter. As reported, I now have a shorty.
