Anyone here live in or near any of the fires in Colorado or New Mex I believe? Looks real devastating on the news.

We had some winds up in the mountains here a week or so ago, surrouonded by high winds AND 80' pines is not very comfortaing. Stuff fell everywhere.

I fortunately don't live in or around either of the 2 major fires in NM. But, those areas are part of my old stomping grounds......Still know folks in both locations.

Between the Whitewater Baldy Complex Fire and the Little Bear Fire, there is over 317,000 acres involved....That's just short of 500 square miles (if my math is correct). Well over 200 homes have been lost.

I currently live about 245 miles NE, as the crow flies, of the Little Bear Fire and we get high level smoke drifting over us on a regular basis.

I'm keeping the residents and responders in my thoughts and prayers.

The High Park fire in northern Colorado is very frightening for our family. No we do not live near it yet have a cousin and husband who are in the area. Their road is often quoted as a fire line. They were involved in a fire a couple of years ago and removed all underbrush from their property at that time. Their house has been slurried during this fire and is now pink in color yet fortunately still safe. They were on Vacation when the fire started and not yet allowed to return home yet have seen pictures taken by fire fighters in the area. We are praying for all who are being inunindated by both natural and man made disasters/violence. May God and their fellow man protect them all. Jim
