This was one awesome build to read. I am ten years older and now consider myself a slacker after reading through your guitar build.ugly_guitar_guy wrote:I'm 29 and my grandfather gave me his father's 1955 Mark V Greenie last year, and now I'm using it to build guitars. It's still working great, and gonna be cutting a heck of a lot more wood for me!

41. I don't know why more guys don't post their projects. I sure would like to see what people have going on. This is in response to dusty. Post away no matter what the quality you think it is. We'd still like to check it out. I'm guilty of no recent projects since I finished the roll top desk project I last posted. Been wrapped up with my new metal lathe. That said, I'm almost ready to do up some mt2 arbors for those interested. Not yet, but almost. Did a dial indicator test on the last few and I have the taper attachment set spot on. I can pretty much make them all day if needed. Later I'll be boring out the quill to put more bearings in. I took the three out I had and will be adding them a little differently.
I'm 69 and have been using my Shopsmith for 30 years. Recently acquired a second SS after my father went to be with God three years ago. I think of him each time I enter the shop and see that 500 he used for so many years.

I am 56 today and have had my machine since 1982 and today it was scheduled to be upgraded to a Mark 7 but FedEx killed that plan. They delivered by three drum sander at 6:15 and I left and at 7 they tried to deliver the double tilt upgrade which required my signature.

I'm 70 and bought my first Shopsmith in 1988 after wanting one badly for 28 years. Since then have bought over 2 dozen more.
I kind of hope that I have not yet bought my last one.
