Hex Wrench
Does anyone know if someone makes an interchangeable handle with Hex Sizes. Kind of like the screw drivers that you can flip the ends or pull it out of the handle and turn it around.

No, but I have seen 'bit kits' that included them.rwilabee wrote:Does anyone know if someone makes an interchangeable handle with Hex Sizes. Kind of like the screw drivers that you can flip the ends or pull it out of the handle and turn it around.

Excelite used to. I don't know if they still do.
I need to find an dealer that sells Excelite because I need to replace some of my phillips head screw drivers. When I locate one, I'll check on hex sets.
PS: I found this source online.

Hex Wrench
I got to thinking about this and realized that I tend to use the "T" wrench almost exclusively on the Shopsmith set screws. Years ago I was taught, at a Traveling Academy to use the "T" wrench to get the correct torque on the setscrews.
Any 5/32" allen wrench will work but you get a spring action with the "T" wrench that is not there with a screw driver like allen wrench.
Now this might be an old wives tale but I thought I would mention it.

I would agree as long as the arbor screws etc. are the target of the wrench.
Gotta disagree re all other 'structural' set screws.
I find the 'L' shaped wrench to be essentially the same as far as 'twisting' is concerned, but it can differ depending upon where the torque is applied. If applied to the 'open' end, the handle itself 'twists' at a lower torque.
The length of the 'ss tool kit' is for more than merely clearing the 12" sanding disc.
