One time I had a guy ask if I lived in the Chesapeake Bay area, and I said within 30 miles or so. He said he has learned over the years of working Tech Support,the different accents from around the country.

Till this day , I always wonder what my accent sounds like to other people:D

Listen close to the wood gear guy. A bit further nawrth, but similar!:)

I have been in so many locales through the years that my accent is a hodge podge, but seems to resemble the latest location more so(not quite eastern KY/apple at cha), but headed that direction;).

Upper mid-west, New York(etc.), Cajun territory, Texas and other regions all have distinctive 'twangs'.

We all have an accent that is discernible to folks from other locales.

The Mark V could be either a 510 or a 505 (no floating tables, tubes and telescoping legs).

If you be near Norfolk when you get there you've got yourself a big haul to st michaels. Up 13 I believe through the bridge tunnel.

I bought that one on April 30th. My 11th Shopsmith! I honestly had no desire for another Shopsmith but only a newer bandsaw. This 520 was born on 11/1999 & was screaming out my name. It was located further down Maryland in the middle of what appeared to be nowhere or it would of been picked up in a heartbeat. It seemed too good to be true.

The really odd thing about the 520 was it was posted on both Craig's List & this forum on April 5th and I was the first person to email the guy on April 29th. I don't understand that.

On this boxed Great Deal Mark V, I looked for the 4" planer & realized they meant jointer. I wonder if that is a standalone scroll saw or powered by the headstock model?

I wish whoever buys this a lot of luck. I wonder though if all the accessories are included- i.e. arbors & blades, and all the other extras such as casters, etc. The nice thing about buying used Shopsmiths is that the sellers often include at least a box or two of other accessories. That make be an opportunity to save a few dollars, but I bet you already have what you need. I remember at the demo, the casters were Mark v casters were ordered separately along with a couple of other accessory boxes.

I'd be interested to know when this Mark V was born.

As far as people buying Shopsmiths and not taking them out of the shipping containers has happened a few times I know of. The first one was the one my father purchased. Back in the 80's I was in the Air Force at the time & came home one leave. My father had all these Shopsmith boxes in the garage. So being bored, I assembled everything except the ProPlaner. He did that himself and apparently forgot the key in the upper pulley! <smile?>

In 2008, I found a tool consignment store in Delaware selling a DC-3300. When I arrived, the people told me there was a lot more Shopsmith stuff in the building next door which was also for sale. A 510 that was assembled, but had no evidence of ever making a wood chip or having any dust on it.

My Honda Civic hatchback was loaded with two 10E/ERs and didn't have much space. But I ended up getting the DC-3300 (unused with extra bags & hoses) and also a biscuit joiner with a couple bags of biscuits all for $100. I didn't have much space to sit in the car.

I just received a PowerPro upgrade I purchased through Lowe's on Memorial Day weekend. Just a couple days over 2 weeks. That was quicker than I anticipated.

Ahhh. National Bohemian country. Natty Boh, one of the worlds greatest beers. I thought you meant the mouth of the bay...anyway, you won't be too far.
PS, since I'm in VA I have to get my Natty Boh and Carling Black label "imported" from MD. Simply love those 2 beers. I need to get my hands on some Ranier and Olympia at some point. Of all the beers on a "beer tour" with my Dad (beers he drank in college) those are 2 that elude me.
