Augh! Natty-Bo. A traditional Baltimore name sake. Unfortunately, it is no longer brewed here in Baltimore. Several years ago (I'm not sure just how far back), the name brand was sold out to a large brewing corporation and the brewery here in Baltimore was closed. They moved production to someplace in Pennsylvania (even though the signature one eyed charactor is still displayed atop the building in East Baltimore). A couple of years ago I actually got to try one when I noticed a local pub in OC had Bo on their beer list. It really wasn't all that bad. However if you read the can, you will notice that it is now currently being brewed someplace in Texas. I tried to look up the location on their website but they don't really say a whole lot about this. They just say it is a signature Baltimore Beer and their contact information says San Antonio, Texas.
Natty and all of the old beers are owned by Pabst blue ribbon. All of the brewing is contract brewed to miller. They use the same recipes they say but it's not brewed in Baltimore. Carling, Sheaffer, Olympia, Rainer, stag, Ballantine xxx, mcsorleys, natty and a bunch more are all now owned by Pabst. Check out the Pabst website...the corporate one, and you'll see the list.
That said, it doesn't change my opinion about carling, Pabst or natty...3 great beers.
