bkhop - I think like you. If you can live with some uneven scraping give it a try. Seems to me that an uneven edge will yield an uneven burr, but if you are willing to give it a try, I'd like to read of the results!bkhop wrote:"...Would that work? Get yourselves a 5/16" chainsaw file (perfectly round, not tapered), mount it in the chuck by the tip, not the tang, and adjust the table square to the file. Turn the SS on "Slow" and lightly press the scraper up against the spinning file with one hand while working the the quill up and down slowly with the other. Caution: You must use very little sideways pressure when doing this as files are brittle and will easily snap.
