They are actually coming to Minneapolis/St. Paul in mid-July. Didn't think they would since we don't have many Lowes in this area. Menards and Home Depot basically have the market cornered.
Of course, in the old days they would come to the Grandstand at the State Fair and attract crowds to gather and watch the demos. Lowes is a long way from the crowds of 1.7 million over 10 days, but at least there is no entrance fee.

what price are the double tilt upgrades going for at the Lowes shows?
The Email deal is $389.00 right now, is it cheaper at the show?

What the rep told us is that there is a 5% reduction on the price for that weekend only. However, if you have a military ID or a VA ID, you can get another 5% off, but you must show it before the cashier starts the POS. I wanted to upgrade from the 500 series to 520 without going to a 510 and he quoted me $1186 plus $83 S&H. Just not the right time for me to invest as I need to keep my pennies for hurricane insurance.

Just saw the demo at the Plymouth, MN Lowes. Mike Young came without the guy with the sweater-vest in the informercial.
The jamming the Oak in the saw and not bogging the machine down was quite the demonstration. ONe of the group made a comment about him not using a push stick. He is definitely the polished presenter. It's gotta help that he has some new wares to offer.
Would love the upgrade, but the money isn't there for it. I was amazed at how quiet it is was, but it always seems noisier in my garage since it is closed in.
Also, I was the youngest person at the demo by about 30-40 years.

Sell that 500, one of the band saws, one of the jointers and you just might raise enough for that $1,400 PowerPro upgradeletterk wrote:Just saw the demo at the Plymouth, MN Lowes. Mike Young came without the guy with the sweater-vest in the informercial.

With the way things are around here, maybe that would work if the upgrade was $400. I haven't seen any of the $100 deals around here:( , but there aren't anything $1000 machines selling here either.fredsheldon wrote:Sell that 500, one of the band saws, one of the jointers and you just might raise enough for that $1,400 PowerPro upgrade
Although in the last two weeks seen a rash of overpriced machines. If I thought I could actually get that kind of money, I'll probably do what you suggest.
Someone is selling a knock-off machine for cheap with lots of accessories. Looks like the seller removed the logo from the speed dial to pass it off as a Shopsmith.
The plus - with the free DVD I got from the demo, I'm able to take screenshots like the one next to my name. Sweater-vest guy, where are you?
